An exclusive and quintessentially British, pop up afternoon tea experience in the beautifully unique setting of the Queen’s House Loggia at Royal Museums Greenwich. 3. Tea & tour – £30; includes tea, sandwiches & petit fours plus a 30-minute curator’s tour of The Queen’s House with a maximum of 10-15 guests.

Tea, Champagne & Cake on the logia/balcony of the Queen's House. Elior restaurant campain offer. Capacity is strictly limited to 32 people per sitting with three sittings taking place every Sunday and ad hoc Saturdays from 5 July to 28 September (see full dates list below). This is a high end, high quality experience with table service in a stunning space which is not normally open to the public. Bookers will be encouraged to enter from the Orangery entrance facing Greenwich Park.

Timed sittings are an hour long and scheduled at 12.30pm, 2pm and 3.30pm (allowing a 30 minute turnover between sittings). In addition the booking portal will display separate start times for the tour package which will begin 45 minutes prior to the relevant tea sitting (eg. 11.45am start time for the 12.30pm tea sitting with tour). An open seating policy is followed which means tables are not necessarily exclusive to any single party of bookers (they may be sharing with people in other parties).

Restrictions

This is billed as an all-weather event – the terrace is an outdoor covered area. In the event of extreme bad weather, diners will be relocated to The Brasserie.
Booking will be promoted as strictly online and in advance (exceptions could be made for walk ups if spaces remain in any sittings).
Children are not permitted for health and safety reasons.

About the Queen’s House

In 1616 Anne of Denmark the queen of King James I commissioned architect Inigo Jones, who had risen to fame as a designer of court entertainments, to design a new pavilion for her at Greenwich, conceived as a house of delights, its function was to be a pleasure palace for the Queen’s enjoyment.
Jones had recently spent three years on his grand tour of Italy studying Roman and Renaissance architecture; the Queen’s House was his first important commission. Though generally called Palladian in style, it was inspired by the Medici villa at Poggio a Caiano, by Giuliano de Sangallo. As the first fully classical building seen in England and one of the principal surviving works of Inigo Jones, it is widely considered to be one of the mot important buildings in British architectural history.
The House now showcases the outstanding fine-art collection of Royal Museums Greenwich, with an ongoing programme of displays and temporary exhibitions, including contemporary work.
